Alex Ott |
Alex is a veteran in the enterprise software industry with operational and board level experience on four continents. He has been partnering with many entrepreneurs in the US, Europe and Israel in building thought leading technology enterprises that seek to make a difference. As an example, Alex was an early investor in and is a current board member of QlikTech (Nasdaq: QLIK), widely considered one of the most successful technology IPO's in 2010. Before founding CrossContinentalVentures, Alex was a member of the Executive Committee of Siebel Systems, where he was responsible for building a major presence in EMEA as VP and General Manager, growing revenues, customer and employee base tenfold in just two years. He then ran the Americas geography, Siebel’s largest market with revenue responsibilities of over $1B. Siebel Systems was awarded the title of fastest growing company several times. Prior to Siebel Systems, Alex played key executive roles within SAP AG (member of the extended global board) and SAP America (Executive Committee member) for almost a decade. In a number of executive positions he was instrumental in founding the SAP Global Partner Program, developing the concept behind and managing the complementary software program and the surrounding ecosystems (believed to be a >$30B market today), and running global marketing and business development programs. Latterly, he held the position of CEO SAP International and Senior VP of Latin America, dramatically growing revenue and profitability through a sustained increase in SAP's Latin American infrastructure and the establishment of new subsidiaries. Alex holds a degree in Economics and Business Management from University BA of Mannheim, Germany. He is an accomplished speaker and has presented at numerous events. In addition, he has lectured at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania on topics such as 'Building high growth ecosystems around hi-tech companies'. |

Warren Weiss |
At Foundation Capital, Warren focuses primarily on investments in emerging software companies — both licensed and software as a service — as well as on those in the Cleantech industry. He currently serves on the boards of CliQr Technologies, ForgeRock, InterAct, Moxie Software, Rearden Commerce, SilkRoad Technologies, Silver Spring Networks, and Visier. Past investments include eMeter (acquired by Siemens) and MarkMonitor (acquired by Thomson Reuters). Catching emerging technologies and superstar entrepreneurs early is Warren's passion. His close ties with leading universities and research labs give him a window into innovations in their purest form, and he cherishes the chance to work with the smartest minds in business, whether first-timers or Nobel-Prize winners. His involvement with on-demand software companies and Cleantech began years before investing in those areas became a mainstream event. Warren was named to the 2012 Forbes Midas List of Technology's Top Investors for his work with Silver Spring Networks. Warren joined Foundation Capital in 2002 with more than 25 years experience in the software industry, including time as president and CEO of four public and private software companies. Most recently, he was president and CEO of Asera, a real-time software solutions provider. Previously, Warren served as president and CEO of Prism Solutions (IBM) during the company's transition from data warehousing tools provider to business intelligence application deliverer. Prior to that, Warren was president of SQRIBE Technologies (now Oracle) and earlier, president and CEO of SMI. Warren has held numerous other senior executive positions at Next Software (Apple), Continuum (Computer Sciences Corporation) and Management Science America (INFOR). He holds a BS from Western Illinois University. |
