And like in every war, you need a coalition. And so, we are forming an industry coalition that shares threat intelligence, with strong cooperation with governments and academia.” Stuart Mckenzie, Managing Director, Mandiant Consulting EMEA, who spoke after Blumenstyk-Barverman, also referred to the war on Ukraine, saying that Mandiant has been its firm supporter since the very begining of the war, almost one year ago. In that context, Mckenzie raised the issue of crisis management and how it must bind good communication and leadership. “In Ukraine there are millions of citizens, so you need to think how to reach them in the most efficient way.” McKenzie also focused on how important it is for each organization to know what its digital “crown jewels’ are, where they are physically located, and how to protect them. “When I’m looking into the future, it’s really hard. The attackers are getting more and more sophisticated, and there’s so much money in ransomware. They’ve gone to highly-efficient ransomware-as-a-service operations that know how to negotiate, and we need to understand where this is going.” Stuart Mckenzie Adi Sharabani, CTO of Snyk, spoke about the how development teams have evolved to make faster innovation possible, and have been adapting to the rising need of cybersecurity, in a world where the threats are on the rise – but the number security officers remains the same. “Organizations today have more tools and capabilities to transform a lot of the security’s ownership, to include the development teams – which are focusing more and more on security,” said Sharabani. Sharabani said that Snyke has identified four main transformations: proactive analyzing of threats; collaboration of development and security teams; change of mindset from audit-based approach to a big chunk on security; and changing the view of looking at code and infrastructure separately to looking at them holistically – which helps identify threats. Adi Sharabani Amitai Ratzon, CEO of the Israeli unicorn Pentera, compared his company to IKEA. “When IKEA came to be they were all about disrupting the business, all about affordability and DIY, getting the furniture to the masses without going through fancy boutiques,” he said. “Pentera is the same, the company’s idea is all about simplicity. We wanted to understand how to take complex testing, with all the complex info that resides in the experts’ minds, and simplify this knowledge and deliver it to the masses, in a continuous and affordable way.” However, as Ratzon explains, “reality is against us, threats are on the rise, the forces outside are very strong and they play against simplicity.” Yet, Pentera has come up with an innovative platform for automatic security validation, an agentless platform, which can be used with the click of a button.” Amitai Ratzon
