The product, called the Electric Design Module, lets electrical contractors and engineers estimate and create fully constructible, code-compliant electrical raceway designs faster by automating the process, according to the company. Doing so eliminates double entry and provides the ability to evaluate multiple design options against cost, construction time and maintainability, the company claims, on top of making the designs more efficient. Leica Geosystems Switzerland-based geographic surveying and management software company Leica Geosystems released its new safety awareness module in the company’s cloud-based collaboration platform Leica ConX, the company announced on Aug. 23 . The company’s previously released safety solution addressed the need to immediately warn on- and off-machine field personnel of potential collisions between themselves, other machines and people. The new module now allows workers to review incidents and assess the entire operation over time and space, according to the company. Eaton Dublin-based power management solution company Eaton revealed a new platform that’s intended to target construction digitization, the company announced on Aug. 25 . The new platform is called the Eaton Project Center. The software, according to the company’s product page , will allow simple drawing tools in the app, and access to BIM collaboration and detailed order and shipping information. The goal of the software is to provide a single location for design, construction and commissioning, with real-time information for all steps of the construction process, according to the company.
